Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures in a professional and efficient manner.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight) and update patient charts.
- Administrative Support: Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and processing patient check-ins and check-outs.
- Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Inventory Management: Maintain examination rooms and medical equipment, ensuring a clean and sterile environment for patient safety.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality.
