Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with history taking and vital signs.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, administer medications, and prepare injections as directed by physicians.
- Perform EKGs and basic point-of-care testing (POCT).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Coordinate patient appointments, handle phone inquiries, and manage patient flow efficiently.
- Ensure the examination rooms are clean, stocked, and sanitized according to infection control protocols.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification as a CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification required.
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
- Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliant).
- Ability to work well under pressure in a multi-provider practice.
