Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures including patient examinations, injections, and wound care
- Perform vital signs monitoring, EKGs, and phlebotomy with precision
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring accurate documentation
- Prepare exam rooms and sterilize medical equipment per OSHA standards
- Coordinate patient flow and schedule appointments efficiently
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Handle administrative tasks including billing codes and insurance verification
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/NextGen preferred)
- Current CPR/BLS certification and NY state phlebotomy license
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask effectively in high-pressure environments
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance protocols
- Associate's degree in Medical Assisting or related field
