Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures
- Accurately document patient histories, vital signs, and clinical information in EHR systems
- Perform clinical tasks including phlebotomy, EKGs, and medication administration
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure exam rooms are fully stocked
- Schedule patient appointments and handle insurance verification processes
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Current Louisiana Medical Assistant certification or MA-RN license
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills
- Excellent communication and patient interaction abilities
- Ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume environment
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
