Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and clinical procedures
- Take vital signs, prepare patients for exams, and collect specimens
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory tests
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and maintain patient confidentiality
- Administer injections and medications under physician supervision
- Schedule appointments and handle front desk administrative tasks
- Ensure exam rooms are sterilized and equipment is maintained
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) preferred
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience preferred
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, NextGen)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to multitask in high-volume setting
