Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation: Greet patients, verify insurance, and prepare them for examination by the physician.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers during physical exams, minor procedures, and diagnostic testing.
- Vitals & Measurements: Accurately measure and record vital signs, height, and weight.
- Lab Work: Collect blood and other specimens following strict laboratory safety protocols.
- Documentation: Update and maintain electronic health records (EHR) with precise and timely entries.
- Admin Duties: Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and coordinate patient referrals.
- Infection Control: Adhere to all OSHA and hospital infection control policies.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) certification is required.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
