Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform patient intakes, measure vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations by providers.
- Assistive Care: Assist physicians and nurses during procedures, draw blood, and administer medications as directed.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient charts, update electronic health records (EHR), and handle insurance verification.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Communication: Clearly communicate test results and health instructions to patients in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Lab Work: Collect and process lab specimens accurately and in a timely fashion.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- License: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
- Skills: Proficiency with electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on patient privacy (HIPAA compliance).
- Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, based on clinic needs.
