Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist providers with patient exams, taking vital signs, and recording medical histories.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, update electronic health records (EHR), and handle insurance verification.
- Procedures: Perform basic clinical procedures such as blood draws, EKGs, and minor surgical assisting as directed.
- Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team, answering questions and explaining treatment plans.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile environment in examination rooms and patient areas.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Certification: Current CMA, RMA, or NCMA certification is required; BLS certification is mandatory.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable; recent graduates with externship experience are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records systems (Epic or Cerner preferred).
- License: Current valid RN or MA license in the state of Texas.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
