Responsibilities
- Perform patient intakes, including accurate vital signs, medical history reviews, and medication reconciliation.
- Assist providers during examinations and clinical procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize medical equipment, and maintain a clean clinic environment.
- Manage administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, processing insurance claims, and maintaining electronic health records (EHR).
- Collect and process laboratory specimens in accordance with safety protocols.
- Provide patient education and instructions regarding medications, treatments, and aftercare.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinic quality assurance standards.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician office or medical setting is preferred.
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and reside in the Houston, TX area.
