Responsibilities
- Perform patient intakes and accurate measurement of vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, weight).
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical instruments and supplies, ensuring a sterile environment.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens, including blood draws, following strict safety protocols.
- Update patient medical records and maintain Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems with precision.
- Provide patient education on medications, post-care instructions, and preventative health measures.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and manage appointment scheduling efficiently.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or urgent care setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR/EHR systems.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
