Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history collection.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers; monitor for adverse reactions.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, phlebotomy, and EKGs accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EMR/EHR system.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, sanitized, and fully stocked with medical supplies.
- Coordinate patient appointments, manage incoming calls, and provide patient education.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent) required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification.
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred but willing to train qualified candidates.
- Strong computer proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail.
