Key Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant will support our clinical staff by performing essential duties to ensure smooth operations and high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and recording medical history.
- Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and privacy.
- Administer injections, medications, and vaccines as prescribed by the physician.
- Perform basic lab tests, such as blood draws and urinalysis, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Manage patient flow in the front office and exam rooms, scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information.
- Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and supplies according to safety protocols.
- Handle confidential patient records and billing inquiries with the highest level of integrity.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is highly preferred for immediate placement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is a plus.
