Role Overview:
As a Medical Assistant, you will be the vital link between our patients and our clinical team. You will ensure a smooth patient experience by managing administrative tasks, assisting with examinations, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and verify demographic information accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature).
- Assist providers during exams and procedures, including specimen collection and EKGs.
- Manage patient flow and coordinate appointment scheduling efficiently.
- Maintain and organize patient charts in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare samples for analysis.
- Handle front desk duties, including answering phones and processing payments.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) is required.
- Current California Medical Assistant license.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician's office or clinic setting preferred.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a significant plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
