Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, vitals, and medical history documentation with high accuracy.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments according to strict hygiene protocols.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Coordinate laboratory tests and facilitate referrals to specialists when necessary.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide exceptional customer service in a busy clinical setting.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a primary care or specialty practice.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
