Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and update medical records accurately.
- Vital Signs: Measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate.
- Assisted Exams: Prepare examination rooms and instruments, and assist physicians with patient exams and minor procedures.
- Medication & Injections: Administer medications, vaccines, and injections as directed by licensed providers.
- Lab Work: Collect and process blood and urine samples for laboratory testing.
- Patient Coordination: Schedule follow-up appointments, send prescription refills, and communicate test results to patients.
- Hygiene Maintenance: Ensure examination rooms are cleaned, sanitized, and restocked between patient visits.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- License: Valid Indiana state license to practice as a Medical Assistant.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work various shifts, including weekends.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- CPR: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is a plus.
