Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height, and record them accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Greet patients and manage check-in processes to ensure a smooth clinic flow.
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring all medical equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers during examinations and procedures as directed.
- Draw blood and collect non-invasive specimens for laboratory testing according to strict safety protocols.
- Provide patient education on medications, diet, and lifestyle modifications to promote wellness.
- Manage medical records, including filing, faxing, and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Certificate or Associate degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited institution.
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
