Responsibilities

  • Perform patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height, and record them accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Greet patients and manage check-in processes to ensure a smooth clinic flow.
  • Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring all medical equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
  • Assist physicians and healthcare providers during examinations and procedures as directed.
  • Draw blood and collect non-invasive specimens for laboratory testing according to strict safety protocols.
  • Provide patient education on medications, diet, and lifestyle modifications to promote wellness.
  • Manage medical records, including filing, faxing, and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or Associate degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited institution.
  • Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
