Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, obtain vital signs, and document medical history accurately.
- Assist physicians and nurses during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for examinations and ensure exam rooms are sanitized and stocked.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, phlebotomy, and EKGs as required.
- Manage patient charts using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Handle insurance verification and patient billing inquiries professionally.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all patients.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- California Medical Assistant License (if applicable by state law).
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on detail.
- Proficiency with medical software and computer systems.
