Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examinations by interviewing them, recording medical histories, and measuring vital signs.
- Assist providers during examinations by handing instruments or medications.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, administer injections, and prepare blood samples for analysis.
- Manage patient records accurately, ensuring all documentation complies with HIPAA standards.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage incoming inquiries via phone and email.
- Provide patient education on medication usage, diet, and lifestyle changes.
Qualifications:
- Current Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty setting preferred.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- CPR and BLS certification is mandatory.
