Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with history taking and vitals.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, administer injections as directed by the physician, and prepare patients for x-rays.
- Assist the healthcare provider during examinations by handing instruments and materials.
- Maintain patient charts and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage front desk duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance.
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medications.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, stocked, and sanitized between patients.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
