Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify information, and prepare them for examinations by taking vital signs and recording medical history.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers during exams, perform basic lab procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and urinalysis.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient scheduling, maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR), and handle insurance verification.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock exam rooms, medical supplies, and medications to ensure operational readiness.
- Communication: Clearly explain treatment plans and instructions to patients, ensuring understanding and adherence.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and office protocols to ensure patient privacy and safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and strong computer literacy.
- Interpersonal: Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all backgrounds.
