Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation & Care: Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse), and record medical histories accurately.
- Clinical Procedures: Assist providers with procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and wound care.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient intake, schedule appointments, and update electronic health records (EHR) efficiently.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock medical supplies, exam rooms, and instruments to ensure clinic readiness.
- Patient Communication: Greet patients warmly, answer inquiries, and provide clear instructions regarding medications and follow-up appointments.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) or completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician's office or clinic setting.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) and medical terminology.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills, empathy, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
