Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, medical history, and updating charts.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures as directed.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws and urinalysis, following strict safety protocols.
- Manage patient intake and check-out processes, ensuring accurate insurance verification.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized clinical environment.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed and supervised by a licensed provider.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of patients.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Assisting is a plus.
