Responsibilities
- Perform clinical procedures including vital signs, EKGs, injections, and wound care
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring equipment sterility and inventory
- Assist providers with patient exams and minor surgical procedures
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) documentation accurately
- Handle patient scheduling, insurance verification, and front desk duties
- Respond to emergency situations with calm professionalism
- Collaborate with nursing and physician teams for seamless patient transitions
Qualifications
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in fast-paced healthcare setting
- BLS/CPR certification required (ACLS preferred)
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic experience strongly preferred)
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts with minimal supervision
- Exceptional communication skills for diverse patient populations
- Flexibility to cover variable shifts including weekends and holidays
- Texas state medical assistant license if applicable
