Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake assessments and vital sign monitoring during evening hours
- Assist physicians with minor procedures and diagnostic testing
- Administer medications and treatments per provider protocols
- Manage electronic health records with 100% accuracy
- Coordinate patient flow between emergency and inpatient units
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain sterile equipment
- Provide patient education on discharge instructions
- Respond to emergency situations with calm professionalism
Qualifications
- Active NC Medical Assistant certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital/urgent care setting
- BLS/CPR certification required (ACLS preferred)
- Proven proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/Cerner experience a plus)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Exceptional communication and multitasking skills
- Flexibility to cover rotating weekends/holidays
- Phlebotomy and EKG certification
