Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, equipment, and sterile fields according to strict protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies with exceptional dexterity
- Maintain sterile environments throughout surgical cases and enforce infection control standards
- Account for all surgical instruments, sharps, and supplies before, during, and after procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery through proper positioning, draping, and skin preparation
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Manage surgical inventory and equipment maintenance to maximize operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in hospital or ambulatory setting
- Expert knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic technique principles
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends and on-call duties
