Responsibilities
- Conduct Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify demographics, and prepare them for examinations.
- Vital Signs & Assessment: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) and patient medical history.
- Phlebotomy & Lab Work: Perform blood draws and collect specimens for laboratory analysis following strict safety protocols.
- Charting & Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist Providers: Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist physicians and nurses during procedures.
- Medication Management: Administer medications as directed by providers and monitor patient responses.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict sanitation and infection control policies to ensure patient and staff safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred; night shift experience is a plus.
- Licensure: Valid IL Medical Assistant license or eligibility for licensure.
- Skills: Proficiency in phlebotomy, EKG, and electronic health records software.
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (3rd shift or swing shift).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform fine motor skills.
