Responsibilities
- Perform routine vital signs, EKGs, and basic health screenings on patients.
- Assist providers with patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Manage patient intake, including medical history collection and insurance verification.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation throughout the shift.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide clear instructions in a calm, professional manner.
- Monitor unit inventory and ensure proper supply levels are maintained for overnight operations.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required.
- Valid New York State Medical Assistant license.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently during the night shift.
- Strong proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-first attitude.
- CPR and BLS certification is mandatory.
