Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and procedures in emergency and clinical settings
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) documentation accurately and timely
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medication protocols
- Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure seamless care transitions
- Respond to after-hours patient inquiries and triage urgent situations
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Excellent phlebotomy and venipuncture skills
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced overnight environment
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
