Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, vitals monitoring, and medical history collection during overnight hours.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with procedures and examinations in a calm, efficient manner.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment for night operations.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens, including blood draws, accurately and on time.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
- Manage patient records electronically, ensuring privacy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans and instructions.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification as a CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- California State Medical Assistant License (if applicable by state regulations).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
