Responsibilities
- Conduct Patient Intake: Greet patients upon arrival, verify demographics, and prepare them for examination by the provider.
- Vital Signs & Triage: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, etc.) and perform basic triage assessments.
- Assist Providers: Act as a clinical assistant during patient visits, preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Documentation: Update and maintain electronic health records (EHR) with precise and timely documentation of patient encounters and treatments.
- Medication & Vaccine Administration: Prepare and administer medications, injections, and immunizations as directed by licensed providers, strictly following safety protocols.
- Infection Control: Adhere to all hygiene and infection control policies to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient scheduling, handle insurance verification, and process basic billing inquiries.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in an urgent care or hospital environment.
- Shift Availability: Must be available to work nights (typically 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM or similar shifts).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all backgrounds.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems and computer software.
- San Antonio Residency: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
