Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform patient intakes, vitals monitoring, and prepare patients for examinations by physicians and nurse practitioners.
- Procedures: Assist with phlebotomy, EKGs, and minor medical procedures as directed by the provider.
- Documentation: Accurately record patient information, medical histories, and test results into Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams regarding treatment plans and test results.
- Administrative: Manage appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, and verify insurance coverage.
- Emergency Response: Monitor emergency call systems and respond promptly to patient needs during the shift.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
- Shift Requirements: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
- Skills: Strong computer proficiency with EMR systems and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Compliance: Ability to adhere to HIPAA regulations and hospital safety protocols strictly.
