Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Monitor vital signs, administer medications as directed by physicians, and provide basic wound care during the night shift.
- Admin & Charting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and complete necessary documentation promptly.
- Procedures: Assist with phlebotomy, EKGs, and various bedside procedures in a calm, efficient manner.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with the night shift nursing staff, physicians, and patients to ensure continuity of care.
- Environment: Ensure the patient room environment is clean, safe, and welcoming for night-time patients.
- Emergency Response: Respond immediately to patient alarms and medical emergencies, following hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a hospital or clinic environment.
- Skills: Proficiency in phlebotomy, EKG administration, and computer literacy with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Interpersonal: Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently during night shifts.
- Physical: Ability to stand for long periods, lift patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform physical assessments.
