Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify demographic information, and update medical records accurately upon check-in.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers with patient examinations, prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, and ensure a sterile environment.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vitals, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Laboratory Duties: Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine analysis, blood draws (training provided), and point-of-care testing as directed by providers.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage appointment scheduling, confirm patient appointments, handle phone inquiries professionally, and maintain filing systems.
- Medication Preparation: Prepare medications for administration under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Professionalism: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: No prior medical experience required. Previous customer service or hospitality experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- License/Certification: Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred but not required for this entry-level position.
- Skills: Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems quickly.
- Attributes: Compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
