As a Medical Assistant, you will be the face of our hospital, ensuring our patients feel welcomed and cared for. Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify personal and insurance information, and update patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Clinical Assistance: Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, sterilize equipment, and assist providers during physical examinations.
- Vital Signs & EKG: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and perform basic EKGs as trained.
- Phlebotomy: Perform blood draws and other minor clinical procedures following strict safety and hygiene protocols.
- Administrative Support: Schedule appointments, handle phone inquiries, and assist with insurance verification and billing processes.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medications, follow-up care, and hospital procedures.
- Infection Control: Maintain a clean and sterile environment by adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required; CMA or EMT certification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience: No prior experience required – we provide hands-on training for the right candidates.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
- Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new medical software.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform fine motor skills.
- Professionalism: High level of professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.
