Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify demographic information, and manage the check-in and check-out process efficiently.
- Clinical Assistance: Assist providers with basic clinical procedures, including taking vital signs, administering injections, and performing EKGs under direct supervision.
- Room Preparation: Prepare examination rooms by stocking supplies, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring a clean, safe environment for patients.
- Administrative Support: Schedule patient appointments, send appointment reminders, and manage incoming phone calls with professionalism.
- Documentation: Accurately record patient data, medical histories, and test results into the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Insurance & Billing: Collect co-pays, verify insurance information, and assist patients with referrals and pre-authorizations.
- Patient Education: Provide basic health education and wellness instructions to patients to support their overall health journey.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is a plus but not mandatory.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer proficiency and typing skills are required.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff of all backgrounds.
- Flexibility: Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced medical environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform physical tasks as required by the role.
- Reliability: Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (for occasional local travel to satellite offices if needed).
