Responsibilities
- Perform patient intakes, including vitals, medical history collection, and insurance verification, ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations, procedures, and minor medical treatments.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and manage inventory of medical supplies.
- Perform basic laboratory tests (e.g., blood draws, urine analysis) following strict safety protocols.
- Manage patient flow efficiently to minimize wait times and enhance the overall clinic experience.
- Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, faxing prescriptions, and maintaining electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide patient education on preventative care and medication instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all backgrounds.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation (optional for some roles).
