Your Day-to-Day:
As a Medical Assistant, your focus will be on delivering high-quality care and maintaining patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics, and escort them to exam rooms to ensure a seamless check-in process.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with examinations, prepare treatment rooms, and sterilize equipment according to safety protocols.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight) and update patient charts.
- Laboratory & Admin: Collect and process laboratory specimens (phlebotomy) and perform basic EKGs as needed.
- Admin Tasks: Handle insurance verification, process patient billing, and manage prescription refills.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program and possession of current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or NCMA certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Skills: Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a strong emphasis on patient empathy.
