Responsibilities
- Perform accurate patient intake, including reviewing medical history and recording vital signs.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments and equipment according to strict hygiene protocols.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccines under physician supervision as authorized.
- Manage and update patient records electronically using EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.) while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and communicate effectively with patients regarding test results and care instructions.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited medical assisting program is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) software.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple locations if needed.
