Responsibilities
- Assist Pharmacists: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify Prescriptions: Review and verify all prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, and drug interactions before dispensing.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage inventory to ensure timely availability of medications.
- Customer Service: Greet patients, answer questions regarding prescriptions and over-the-counter medications, and provide exceptional service.
- Insurance Processing: Process insurance claims, verify coverage, and handle copayments efficiently.
- Prepare Sterile Products: Assemble and label compounding orders and sterile products according to strict safety protocols.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of prescription data, patient profiles, and controlled substance logs.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification is required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; PharmD or Associate degree preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed for part-time coverage.
