Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures including injections, wound care, and EKGs
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens following protocols
- Schedule patient appointments, handle insurance verifications, and process billing codes
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and sterilize medical equipment
- Provide patient education on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care
Qualifications
- Active MA certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or graduate from accredited MA program
- 1+ years of clinical experience in outpatient or hospital setting preferred
- BLS/CPR certification and Pennsylvania phlebotomy license
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends as needed
