Job Summary
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of patient care. You will assist physicians and nurses in clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring our facility operates smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for examinations, assist physicians with procedures, and take patient vitals (blood pressure, temperature, weight).
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient check-ins and check-outs, verify insurance information, and handle front-desk reception duties.
- Lab Work: Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws, urinalysis, and EKGs, following strict safety protocols.
- Record Management: Update and maintain accurate patient medical records and electronic health records (EHR) in a timely manner.
- Facility Maintenance: Sterilize medical equipment and maintain clean, organized examination rooms.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure quality care.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA, RMA, or NCMA certification required.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., AthenaHealth, Epic) is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient privacy (HIPAA compliance).
- Reliability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility for overtime or varying shifts.
