Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for examinations, assist providers with procedures, and perform vital signs, EKGs, and basic lab work (phlebotomy).
- Administrative Support: Manage patient intake, verify insurance information, and update electronic health records (EHR) accurately and efficiently.
- Communication: Clearly communicate test results and treatment plans to patients in a friendly and empathetic manner.
- Scheduling: Coordinate appointments, referrals, and prescription renewals while managing the front desk reception duties.
- Inventory: Monitor and restock examination rooms, medical supplies, and medications to ensure readiness for daily operations.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and clinic policies.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification from an accredited institution.
- License: Valid California State Medical Assistant license (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, etc.) and strong computer literacy.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
