Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, including updating medical histories and verifying insurance information accurately.
- Administer injections, assist with minor medical procedures, and perform routine vital signs.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment.
- Process laboratory specimens, including phlebotomy, and ensure all lab reports are filed correctly.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans.
- Handle patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism, providing accurate information and direction.
- Manage Electronic Medical Records (EMR) efficiently to ensure compliance with privacy regulations (HIPAA).
Qualifications
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting (1-2 years) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, such as Epic or AthenaHealth.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environment.
