Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify demographics, and prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical history.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with examinations, procedures, and minor surgical techniques.
- Medication & Injections: Prepare and administer medications, injections, and immunizations as prescribed by providers.
- Lab Services: Perform basic laboratory tests, phlebotomy, and EKGs, and ensure proper specimen handling.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date Electronic Health Records (EHR) using our practice management software.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule appointments, manage incoming calls, and handle patient billing inquiries.
- Patient Education: Provide instruction on medication usage, diet, and lifestyle modifications to patients.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) certification preferred; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Professionalism: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor.
