Responsibilities
- Greet patients and verify demographic information accurately upon check-in.
- Assist providers with patient examinations, taking vital signs, and recording medical histories.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as EKGs, urinalysis, and blood draws, ensuring strict accuracy.
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits and sterilize medical equipment.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) by updating patient charts and maintaining confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by providers.
- Handle patient inquiries and coordinate referrals to specialists.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.
