Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations: Assist physicians and advanced practice providers by taking vital signs, recording medical history, and updating patient charts.
- Perform clinical procedures: Administer injections, draw blood, perform EKGs, and assist with minor office procedures.
- Laboratory Support: Collect and process lab specimens, ensuring accuracy and timely results.
- Administrative Duties: Answer phones, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict sterilization and sanitation protocols to maintain a safe environment.
- Patient Education: Explain treatment plans and medication instructions to patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician practice or clinic setting.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Professionalism: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor.
