Responsibilities
- Measure and record patient vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting with draping and positioning.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and phlebotomy (blood draws) accurately and efficiently.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
- Manage patient records, including updating electronic health records (EHR) and verifying insurance information.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
- Provide patient education and instructions regarding medications and aftercare.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency with electronic health record systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients of all backgrounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
