Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Accurately document patient information in electronic health records (EHR)
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, and basic lab tests per protocols
- Administer medications and injections under provider supervision
- Coordinate patient flow and manage examination rooms efficiently
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and infection control standards
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current CPR certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) credentials
- Texas Medical Assistant certification (CCMA or RMA preferred)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic experience a plus)
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient-centered care
- Ability to lift 25-50 pounds and stand for extended periods
