Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist providers during medical procedures
- Accurately document patient information in EHR systems and maintain confidential medical records
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic laboratory tests following strict protocols
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper sterilization
- Schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage, and handle patient communications
- Assist in emergency response protocols and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) from accredited institution
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or Cerner preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification with ability to maintain throughout employment
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Associate degree or certificate in Medical Assisting required
