Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring equipment sterility and supplies
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing
- Accurately document patient information in electronic health records (EHR)
- Coordinate patient flow and schedule appointments efficiently
- Provide patient education on medications, procedures, and wellness plans
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current CPR certification and BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Valid Texas state MA certification or eligibility
